Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

TOTALLY WORTH GOING BACK TO GET YOUR DEGREE!!!! I went to school full time, worked full time and I’m a full time wife and mother. I graduated in December 2006 and in less than a year was able to secure a job making $12K more per year! :)

I’m in month 3 of my Curves transition. I have lost 7lbs (I KNOW, not a lot for 2 months) BUT I have lost 16” and gone down 2 dress sizes! As a matter of fact, I’m now shopping in the “regular sized clothing” I think that’s called “misses” instead of “women” ha ha!! I bought clothes at Old Navy and they fit just fine!!! Now they are still XL’s and size 16’s and stuff, but that’s alright…because I’ve NEVER been able to wear Old Navy clothes! My goal was to be a size 10 or 12. I think that a size 12 is more proportioned for me because of my large frame But we’ll see!!! Anyway, it’s been a while since I updated so I wanted to get this posted! I’ll have to find some comparison pictures!!!!

Today was weigh in day at Curves. I lost 5lbs. Now, that doesn’t sound like much, however, I have lost almost 13 inches (12.75 to be exact) and dropped by BMI by 2%!! I lost 3.5” in my bust, 3.75” in my waist, 3” in my Abdomen, 1.5” in my hips, 1” in my thighs and I can already shop for a size (sometimes 2) smaller. At my heaviest, I was wearing a size 22. I just bought SPANDEX (CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT?!) to work out in, in a size 16/18-IN THE REGULAR SIZED CLOTHING DEPARTMENT!!!!! Now, it was still an XL size pant, however, in case you didn’t catch what I said-I SHOPPED IN THE REGULAR SIZED CLOTHING DEPARTMENT!!!! HA HA! I’m feeling pretty good about the loss. I have to admit, the 5 lbs was very disheartening, but the inches I’ve lost are COMPLETELY noticable. My family, who have not seen me in about a month flipped out at my weight loss…how were they to know I’d only lost 5lbs? WOOOHOO ME!!!!
