“There’s something special about people who are interested in the printed word. They are a species all their own – learned, kind, knowledegeable and human.”

- Being able to work for a few hours today.

- Colored pencils.
- Writing a list of the things I have to pack for my next Camino adventure.
- My flatmate. How well we live together – not just next to one another.
- Talking to M for an hour, hearing her be excited about her summer and the next steps, even if they will be without a relationship.

I have now received 49 postcards. So, one to go until I can mark this goal as done … I wonder where it will be from!?
The picture shows a collection of some cards I received and really liked.

Honestly I watched this movie mainly because I was curious about the reactions it provoked last summer (mostly in the US, I guess).
I didn’t hate it and I didn’t love it. I pretty much expected it to be what it turned out to be in the end: entertaining. The plot is surely predictable, but then again, sometimes that is exactly what I want from a movie. No thinking involved. I am not sure I understand all the fuss – good or bad – better after I have seen it, though …

- Talking to him early, early this morning after my shift at work. He graduated and was very happy with the results. Makes me happy, too. He said he missed me at the party. That makes me happy as well.
- Tea and talks with a friend. Catching up with a sometimes fast life.
- Good classes today.
- Yummy food.

- Waking up with both my sisters here.
- This morning I realized that I don’t have that much time anymore to book my flight to Portugal (I am walking parts of the Camino with a friend again), so I decided to book it tonight. In the afternoon I had coffee with a friend in the city center and while waiting for her I saw those two older men with bagpacks and shells around their necks. They actually are pilgrims, walking to Santiago at the moment! What a strange and wonderful encounter (it is not common to see pilgrims here in Germany, since it is a long way to walk). I took it as a sign that today was indeed the perfect day to book. I am all set for our next little adventure now. Can’t wait!
- My man told me today that he is planning to come this coming weekend. It has not truly sunk in just yet, but I am already so, so happy. This has been the longest we ever went without seeing each other. It is time that that’s over.
- Coffee with E was lovely. We sat in a local park for a while afterwards, I took two books out of our town bookcase. Good friends are always wonderful.

I went there with my flatmate and it was really nice. Very artsy, in the same building as one of Augsburg’s theaters. Very cozy inside, yummy cake. I will definitely go there again.

I enjoyed this movie, even though it was fairly predictable. I do very much like Rachel McAdams and there were some really touching and lovely scenes in it. Loved their wedding vows and the idea of “moments of impact”.

327: Richard Bach – Jonathan Livingston Seagull
I picked this up a few days ago and decided to make it my surprise-pleasure read for those days … ended up finishing it last night. It was a short, yet beautiful story.

326: Harriet Beecher Stowe – Uncle Tom’s Cabin
Another one read for class, but this time one that I enjoyed reading immensly. I it is a remarkable book, especially considering the time it was written and published in.
I am very much looking forward to discussing it in class. Recommended!

325: Wolfgang Koeppen – Das Treibhaus
I had to read this one for class. Honestly, it was not very enjoyable and I am hoping very much that a good discussion in class will make it a little more understandable. Not understanding what is going on, seemed to make it even more tedious than necessary. Also, politics is not one of my favorite topics to read about. Let’s see if I will like it better in a few weeks.

Finally, I managed to see this film and I liked it a lot. I love the message about how everyone is the same in a different way. Very funny and touching and recommendable movie.
