I’m reading the translation by N.J.Dawood, published as a Penguin paperback. I hadn’t realized the extent to which Islam builds on the Torah and the Gospels: Abraham, Job, Isaac, David and Jesus all figure in the Koran, but the versions told there differ greatly from those “we” know.
