i decided to try to go vegetarian for a month just to see if i could do it. i was raised on a farm in iowa and was very much a meat-eater. i was just curious to see if i would be able to hold out for a month. it was really difficult at first but then i began to look at food differently and tried new recipes and new restaurants that i overlooked before. i conquered my one month challenge and continued not eating meat for four months after just because i liked it. i felt better and it was good to challenge myself.

The 24-hour-awesome-a-thon consists of staying up for 24-hours and doing (at least) one awesome thing every hour (“awesome” being relative; personal things you’ve always wanted to do or things you didn’t think you could do, personal challenges (physical, mental, emotional, social, etc.), just about anything you can come up with).
