Can it be considered a move to a new city when you’ve been there almost two months and still can’t find a place to live?

I figure part of the problem is I made the mistake of moving at the end of the year. With the holidays, people don’t seem to be in a great hurry to respond to e-mails asking about apartments.

Other than that minor issue, I think Portland is great. Hopefully I get the living situation settled soon so I can’t actually stay here for a while.

I didn’t train nearly enough for this race and a few times considered deferring until next year because of that. I’m glad I didn’t though because, despite the pain I’m feeling now, it’s totally worth it.

What a fantastic race. The crowds were tremendous and so supportive. It still boggles my mind that many people came out to cheer on people running.

I entered the lottery this year so I could start the process of three rejections and get into the race in the future.

Except I won the lottery this year. So I guess I’m running it a bit sooner.

I’m not worried about finishing. I just don’t know if I’ll be in good enough shape by race day to finish under 4:00. We’ll find out in 60 more days.
