I am 34 years old and a successful career woman. Throughout my life people have asked me why I don’t or why didn’t I go into modeling. When I think of the reasons why there are a few—1. I am too short 5’6’’ would never cut it at the Ford Agency! 2. I am too heavy—175+ pounds would also never cut it it the world of modeling. Lastly, I had an aunt who would also say to me, “It’s too bad you let yourself get so fat because you could have been famous with that face.” So, although I secretly also wanted to be out there because I had always been confident in my beauty, I resolved to give up any hopes of modeling. Until I developed a love for my curvaceous body and realized that others in the world are not consumed with size 0 women, but actually like a realistic sample of the human body. Instead of wishing I had been born in Renaissance times when curves and flesh were celebrated, I am now celebrating my confidence and curves today at 34 in 2008. I would love to get my confidence, smile, and face out there to show other women that beauty is more that squeezing into the “skinny” jeans and teeny bikinis.
