My week got off to a late start, and then when I wanted to get up early for yesterday’s run, I had a headache, so I decided to try to sleep and run later.
I finally left for the run at 9:30, and it was…a run. Nothing groundbreaking, but not as awful as it could be. As an added benefit, since it was after dark, it was (relatively) cool and there was a breeze blowing. I could actually feel myself settling into a groove, and I think I could have run longer. This is a good thing! Woo!

I challenged myself to take one picture a day for a month, and I amazed myself with how much better my photography has become. I’m also loving looking at that month of pictures; I remember moments that would otherwise be forgotten.
The index is supposed to get to 105 today, so I left early, hoping to beat the humidity. It. Didn’t. Work. At six am it was 72 and 97% humidity; needless to say, I wasn’t running very fast. 15 minutes into the run I felt like I was running through warm pudding.
Oh, last week on my first 25 minute run I clocked my distance. I went, um, 1.8 miles. In 25 minutes. That’s seriously embarrassing. So today I tried to pick up the pace a little, despite the heat, and I think I covered a little more ground.
The runs aren’t getting any easier, until I realize that I’m running nearly two miles when a month ago I couldn’t have run a mile without stopping. So progress is being made, despite the sweat.
