tutorial? guide?

can anyone recommend a good tutorial, guide, or book for a regex beginner? Learning this is something that I’ve put off for a long time, but I’m tired of needing it and not knowing it.

I can’t even begin to describe all of the reasons, but getting the big, old PhD was completely worth it for me. Your mileage may vary.
I mean, I know the basics well, and use it as my primary editor, but I never really felt like a VI master. I’ve even picked up books on it (New Riders has a nice one) but it always becomes one of those “when I get around to it…” things.
