Read three books to him today. None at bedtime as he fell asleep on his bed in the middle of a tantrum.

I tried. He helped me cook it. He dished it up. Then he started yelling “I don’t want it! I don’t like it”. I told him he had to taste it before he could get down from his chair. He threw a tantrum. I CALMLY deposited him in his room. He raged. I took him out to the chair when he said he was done screaming. He ate the one bite then said he was done and demanded juice and ice cream. I said no…another tantrum ensued, and he fell asleep in mid tantrum on his bed. What the hell am I doing so wrong?
His refusal to eat is what got me to the point of him having nothing but PB&Js and pizza pockets. Why bother preparing a meal you KNOW he will NOT eat? I have warned him that if he doesn’t eat he is going to end up back in the hospital. He is afraid of this and will gag a few mouthfuls down all the while tears a re streaming down his face. I don’t feel good about this. I don’t know what to do. All the people who say don’t make an issue and that kids will eat when they are hungry have no idea what I have been through, so just DON”T. If you think you might have a suggestion for getting him to eat, please let me know. Recipes, healthy snacks your kids liked? I’m all ears:)
I am doing this right now. I am not acting exasperated every time my son asks me for help with his toys. Sounds like a no brainer but I have been sliding downwards for awhile and today I realized I am acting like the bigger brat with the worse tantrums out of the two of us. I battle depression and am trying to stay off my meds and I realize it is getting the better of me, and my shitty attitude is proof. Time to buck up and put on my big girl panties. Grown ups don’t lose their patience.
