“FlyLady. (“Fly” stands for “Finally Loving Yourself.”) “
What a lovely way to think about it! If I follow the FlyLady tips, I am making myself a comfy, functional nest, rather than beating myself up about my bad habits. So I really am showing great respect for myself—not to mention others who may share/see my abode.

I kind of like wrapping up and getting to the answer, although this is some nitpicky work I have to do today. Oh well, almost done. Three pomodoros down already. Grateful for not having to use too much of my brain :).

It has been pointed out that I have been lax about labeling (I do it very nicely with typing or not at all when I’m not sure the experiment is good enough for anyone else to see.) I can keep mental notes about the habits I want to set up to make the notebook both useful to me and others. Electronic may be the way to go, although it takes more setting up and would be better with a computer in lab.

I was ready to give up on this goal. Hang-gliding etc. is not a priority right now. But then I realized that doing work is a risk. Getting in touch with my feelings is a risk. This pink shirt is a risk. I need this kind of risk to feel alive, progressing and free to be authentic.

Friend was totally out of it this weekend. She called me for help. Although I started out as all action, I realized that what she needed was listening. I flexed the patience muscle.

OK, I just wrote my “first things first” list. And here I am, not doing it.
I am afraid of starting the to-do list. I’ve gone through all the “reasons”. But right now, I feel my feet. They are a little tense because this is unresolved if I don’t start doing it.
What do I want now? Ease of following the path. Congruence with what I say I want (successful career life).
What small step can I do now toward that? Calculate x.

Today’s work today.
I want to work on “papier mache”. (It’s a secret code.)
1. cut and paste
2. stuff it in bacteria (x2)
3. analyze the letters
When I am done, I can hit it with abandon, revealing many treats!
It doesn’t help to make up rules about not websurfing tomorrow. Today I want this done. I can do it. It will be fulfilling.

I don’t actually think the wear-and-tear on joints is worth it for long-distance, long-term running. But a 5k gets me to my target heart rate for 20-30 minutes. It is totally do-able for a non-runner like myself.
I suggest having a race in a few months to motivate you to prepare. The cheering really helps! I thought I would walk part of the way, but the excitement of strangers watching really pushed me to my best time. Also, my race was in a scenic area which helped distract me from any huffing and puffing. :)
Also, I found a treadmill is a good way to start because the landing is a little softer on your joints. And you can monitor your speed. I actually did most of my training by running on the street (fairly flat); it helped to be unemployed and have flexibility in going out when it wasn’t too hot or too cold. (The sharp pang of breathing in cold air really deters me.)
You will enjoy the runners’ high! Just get good shoes you only use for running. Better running stores will analyze your gait (how you walk) to help you pick shoes that will compensate for any rolling ankles, which could lead to injuries if uncorrected. I have pronation and flat feet but I did fine. Yeah, shoes are $100.
Oh, yeah, don’t forget to stretch afterwards! And build up mileage slowly.

This is more of a weekly than a daily thing for me. I realize it was needed because I just added a goal about cooking—when I need to be studying for a final!
So, this week, in pretty much this order:
-education
-self-care: outdoors, gym
-work transition: get on same page
-trip preparation
-Easter cards
-taxes

OK, I want to eat what’s good for me. I want a practical creative outlet. I want my home to be more organized (that is, regularly keeping it up.) Seems like regular cooking would help me with all these goals.
It has been so long. I will first just try once a week. I have more time on weekends, but that’s when my VIP likes to go out for food.
So over the weekend I can at least make sure the kitchen is clean, so I will be inspired to cook.

I shared a work concern and brainstormed today.
With myself, I share optimistic thoughts about the new job and smart co-workers, and keeping in touch with my old co-workers.
At home, I will share love tonight.

I feel most rejuvenated and kind to myself when I make time to be in nature.

Any thoughts:
How do I set up room for passion at a new job?

OK, sometimes I miss the chance to make an amusing observation, i.e. status. I could write them all down and have a little stand-up talent show with friends.
Fun to act like a kid!

It wasn’t earth-shattering, but I did my crafts a little differently than my friends this weekend. I’d like to ease into a regular creative expression time again. I dabble. And writing online is a craft I kind of do, then sort of forget about it because it’s not tangible.
What do you all think about consistency of media/timing, etc, when you are trying to invent something? That is, do you always set aside a certain time of day? Do you sit down regularly to the place that has certain tools of inventing?

Dreamed about work, which seems strange as I am soon leaving my workplace. Well, in my dream was a colleague who had left this kind of work altogether (something I am considering, eventually).

Need some solid criteria to look forward to:
-Having a clear flat area for breakfasting, reading, homework, emails and crafts (2 or 3 areas maybe)
-Walking right into my room and the office, without having to shimmy or step over stuff
-Being OK with people coming over
The last one is complicated. Our sitting places are usually uncluttered but not our potential game board spot.

Trip is coming up! Buying supplies now. Got tips from people who were just there and held a baby white-faced monkey in their hands!!

I have been focused and determined in some ways. I made this job happen.
This goal has served to remind me that I always want to be more focused, maybe because I’m not picking the one important thing that will make a difference right now!
So, that’s why I am moving on. Adios.
