I used to love biking around my hometown in the hot hot sun, and then I took my bike to Canada where I loved riding around the lake in chilly spring afternoons, and everything was great. Then on the way home, my car got broken into and my bike was stolen, and this made me sad. I need to get another one soon, since school’s starting up again in a few weeks, and I’m trying to get an apartment that’s too close to the university to drive, but too far to walk. Plus, how can you live without a bike to ride?

It seems like my problem isn’t working too much, but working too little. I do fun things all the time, then periodically realize that there’s something real I have to do, and because I have so little time, I do a rushed job of it and feel stressed and unsatisfied. I need to learn to do a little bit of fun and a little bit of work every day, instead of fun, fun, fun, fun, WORK! If I can find balance, I’m sure I could be a straight A student and hold a job and still have a social life.
My sister is flying out to where I’m currently living, and we’re going to take the long way back home in my car, seeing all of the west coast, and a bunch of the midwest as well. I’m kind of sad that we can only stay one night in each city and then move on, but we don’t have the funds to hang around for multiple nights in one area. Hopefully our trip will still be fun and we can see a lot of new things, like the Redwoods!
