All I see is clutter. So much stuff was bought that we didn’t need or use. If we used it, it was held on to because someone couldn’t part with it. Idolatry? I guess one could call it that. When I look at the clutter, I don’t see valued possessions. I see unnecessary items that cost us money. I do think that “less is more”. It’s a lesson in being happy with what you have and not wanting more because, face it, stuff is just stuff. It does not make a home or a life.
I told my husband that I was going to mercilessly go through things this year, sort them out, take things to charity, sell them, or throw them away.

1) If you want to get paid or earn priveleges, you have to work.
I made a chore chart for my kids as well as laying out expectations on how I expect each chore to be done. If the job is not done well, no payment. I will not remind anyone but once, as the chore charts are on the fridge. If you don’t do the chore, no payment and no priveleges.

My Grandfather’s picture and information is now uploaded on the WWII National Registry of Rememberances. I had certficates sent to all family members and even sent them a link to the website if they wanted to look it up themselves. I will always remember my Grandpa. However, I know that he is at peace now. He continues to live on through each of us.
