So DCfC was amazing. I want to marry Ben Gibbard so bad that it hurts. I wish I remembered the whole set list, but either way. The only songs that I really wanted them to play that they didn’t were “champagne from a paper cup,” “we looked like giants,” and “tiny vessels.” It was just… incredible. The whole set was tight and perfect and they were great. The light effects were good too—during “the new year” when they hit the cymbals these HUGE flood lighst lit up the entire freaking room. I’m so glad I went.

Most years, I would set a goal of 100 books or more, but this year started very slow for reading. And I’ve been reading a LOT of non-fiction, which usually takes a bit longer than a novel. As of today, I’ve read 20 and am working on 21, 22 and 23 (Nothing Feels Good, The Wonder Spot and The Friend Who Got Away). I should be able to hit 75 by the holidays. :)
If at all possible. Set tiny goals for yourself—“I will talk to one new person every week/day/whatever.” Put yourself in situations where you will be forced to interact with people. There’s no reason to keep your personality to yourself.
I used to be (kind of) shy, and now I just don’t have the time for it. I figure if people are going to like me, they better like me for the me that I like. If they like Shy!Kacie, they don’t like Real!Kacie. And that’s no fun.
