Trying Again
Well the first attempt didn’t work out so well. Basically it was due to system incompatabilities. I use a Mac, everything at ITT Tech is Windows based and I just couldn’t get XP installed on the laptop.
But, thanks to getting sick and losing my job, I’ve decided to move back to WV with my parents and go to school full time while working part time. I can’t do that if I live on my own, I need the luxury of no rent and few bills to succeed at this.
So, more student loans will be borrowed and more time will be spent at school. I plan on going to Frostburg State University in fall 09, more than ten years after I originally started college. No clue what my major will be; in today’s economy I want to make it worthwhile.

I’ve going through the application process and all that jazz for ITT Tech, and should be starting Monday. It’s a bloody expensive school. One semester costs about as much as my student loan for 3 years of full-time study and room/board costs at Marshall University. Work will reimburse me about 25% of the cost of tuition each semester, so that should help. And hopefully I can get finished in less than two years, especially since I have a crapload of general ed classes under my belt.
I just feel like a loser because I have no degree. I’m likely the smartest person (though I screw up a lot in life) in my family, and on paper you can’t really see that. I want to prove to everyone, including myself, that this brain works pretty darn good.

So I had a car accident – other person’s fault – a few months ago. I have shitty credit and was pretty much broke. Normally I would have bought another crap car and paid in cash, but I didn’t have the cash to do so. So, my other option was to go to a car place that would finance for me and pay out the ass for a crappy car.
Since the wreck, I spend 40 hours a week working and roughly 20 hours a week going to doctor’s appointments. My payment is due every Friday, which is the one day I rarely have an appointment to go to. But I’m always exhausted that day. So I’ve been kind of lax lately – either paying late or not at all the past couple of weeks. Today I went outside to get a nutritious dinner from McDonalds and buy my mom cigarettes, and found that I had no car. After about an hour of phone calls, all after 9pm, I finally got confirmation that the car had been repossessed. What the suck.
Luckily, the guy is willing to let me pay the back payments, the repo costs, late fees and towing fees to get my car back. This will likely cost more than my rent this month.
Which reminds me, I’ve forgotten to pay my rent. Fucking hell.
This month sucks. Remember to pay your bills on time, kids. Or you might find yourself without a car or a home. Especially if you’ve got bad credit to begin with…they don’t give you much leeway.
Just say no to repo.
