How I did it: All of my life I have been deathly afraid of my hair. It's thick and long with tight curls and various textures; therefore, some hair products work on some parts of my hair and others... not so much. I never knew how to control it. So, for the majority of my life I resorted to straightening my hair with flat irons, curling irons, hot combs, blow dryers and whatever hair products promised "smooth and sleek hair."
