I have no idea what year I’m at. I just returned to school after 10 years and started a whole new field. I was a printmaking and surface design major and now I’m a year into a biological science/environmental science major. When I first went to college I didn’t really care about what I was doing so the only courses I put any effort into were my art courses. I never really expected any university would accept me for such a crappy past.
Last year about this time I applied for Northwestern’s School of Continuing Studies with their performance-based admissions and I made the grade and got accepted as an official student. I’m still somewhat stunned that my past university experience didn’t get me kicked out immediately. Now I look forward to my class nights because this time I know what I want and am willing to work for that diploma

I am sick and my throat hurts so bad but somehow that all fades away when my pup decides to take a nap on my legs. Sure, my legs are numb because the pup is 65 pounds of solid muscle and pokey elbows and knees but she looks so peaceful. It makes all the other crankiness disappear.

Yesterday, since I am totally too ill to go to the gym, I sorted through my hanging clothes and weeded out a whole garbage bag full of clothing to donate. I try to do that twice a year but I missing my New Year’s Eve clothes sorting event (I like to start the New Year fresh and clean). 2007 was the year to downsize and try to live a more minimalist lifestyle so I didn’t purchase as many clothes as I have in the past. I still have to sort through the clothes in my drawers but lucky for me, I am still ill! No gym trip until I am well enough not to cough all over everything. So it looks like I get to go through my clothes again and do some more purging!
