I did my second race (well technically third) on Sunday 20th November 2011..I did it quicker than the previous weeks 10k which is shocking as the previous weeks 10k was all flat course but this weeks was hilly and tough.
I almost quit before the first mile was over due to pain in my foot but I didn’t and I am glad I didn’t.
By mile 4 I was on target to drop at least 10 minutes from last weeks time but the last 2 miles of this race was very hilly and by this point I seemed to have zero energy so it’s getting obvious that at my current weight I need to take something with me to have before I get to the 4th mile to make sure I have some energy!
Mile 3 was fast and bouncy and it must of been the water they gave me as I literally had this massive energy boost and was bouncing along after that for a full mile and that was my fastest mile.
Glad to have finished to be honest!

How I did it: I passed my driving test so no longer need this goal on my list.I made the most of my lessons by making sure I concentrated and listened to what my instructor was telling me. Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had the most amazing driving test. I didn't think I would pass because before my test I had a 90 minute lesson and I was driving like someone who had only just started to learn to drive. I just couldn't seem to get my act together and I kept telling myself to calm down and chill out but I just couldn't.But it seems I did an amazing job and didn't even get any minors so that's amazing as far as I'm concerned but also in general. My exami… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I finally finished this goal...I started this a long time ago and kept coming back to it but I started it seriously 6/7 weeks ago and I've reached my goal today (plus 1lb over but that will count towards my next goal). I didn't think I'd reach it after losing 5lbs last week I knew I only needed another 2lb loss to get up to 20lbs but for some reason it didn't feel like I'd lost any weight this week so I was more than happy when I fou… Read how I did it…

I finally went after all these years of wanting to go. I went out for my friends sons 13th birthday as he’d decided that’s what he wanted to do.
I was nervous as I have a fear of ice, although not as big as it once was, and was scared I was going to fall and hurt myself and with a 5.25 mile race planned for 2 days later falling was an option.
Stepping onto the ice, it felt slippy and I held onto the side like my life depending on it. At first I couldn’t move and had people, maybe as scared as me, rushing to get round me to get back onto holding onto the side.
Eventually I started to make my way round holding on and waiting for people to move out of the way. Eventually I left go but every time I pushed off with my right foot it pulled me back into the side and stopped me because the blade was just sliding on the ice and not gripping. .. I went round a few times like this and it was easy and harder at the same time especially with the right blade having no edge on it. In the end I got sick of it and went and changed my skates.
..
On changing the skates I improved 100% with my skating and even though the blades weren’t much sharper they made a big difference and I was going around nowhere near the edge although I kept closer to it just in case and needed it a couple of times as the place was full of idiots breaking rules and being very dangerous!
I went round a few times before someone fell and hurt themselves and everyone got moved and basically weren’t allowed to move.
We weren’t able to skate after that so that was the end of it.
I’d do it again without a shadow of a doubt but not on a Friday night when it’s full of idiots breaking rules and doing what the hell they like!
Wish I’d done it years ago!
I have to do three 10ks this month to qualify for enter into my running clubs draw for a place into next years London Marathon. This is a new rule which wasn’t meant to start until next year but as they don’t like me and don’t want me to have a chance of getting the place they put this rule in this year thinking there is no chance of me doing three races over five miles before the deadline of the 14th December 2011.
Well I am not fit enough due to illnesses etc but I wasn’t going to let that get in my way although of course I’d of liked a few weeks of training to get a bit fitter, instead of being thrown into this with only a couple of recent run/walks under my belt.
Anyway today I did my first 10k, out of the three, and I struggled because of my foot. I was in so much pain that I was in tears before the first mile and wanted to quit not long after but me being me and determined to (a) not let the committee bully me (b) not give in© finish what I’ve started, I carried on and pushed through to the end. It wasn’t easy I’ll be honest and I ran out of energy between the third and forth mile but I got there in the end. I am glad I did it and I have a fantastic medal to show for all the hard work so I am very happy about it.
I have injured myself but I knew I would and I know it will happen on the next two races but as long as I do the races and knock a little time off, a minute off each will do me, then I’m happy!
I will then be able to get back to my training for 4 weeks before I do the race I originally planned to do, the only one I was going to do before being forced into this three race rule, and will knock at least ten minutes off my current time and show them that yes I am being serious about running and I may not be fit now but I am doing a marathon next year, even if I don’t get in London, so they can stop calling me names and actually take me seriously as I am on a mission and I will do my goals and I know I will annoy them all especially one of them…watch this space!!
