Now that we’ve moved to New Hampshire, Montreal is only three hours away, so I have very few excuses. My husband loves it there and wants to show me around, and I’ve always thought it was a shame that I’d never been to Canada, so there it is! We’ll see how long it takes us.

How I did it: If you have this as your goal, make sure you join NaNoWriMo next year. I don't think I ever could have done it without the terrifying (but totally do-able) deadlines and the awesomely supportive community. Sure, you'll only have a messy first draft when you're done, but I can tell you... it still feels awesome! Read how I did it…
This is a long term goal for me, as we can’t afford it yet and want to establish a permanent home first (we’re been married less than a year), but we’ve decided that we should do in miniature what we plan to do in magnitude. With that in mind, we’ve begun sponsoring a little girl in India through Compassion International. They have photolistings of all the children they have available for sponsorship on their website at http://www.compassion.com/sponsor_a_child/default.htm and it’s only thirty-eight dollars per month, which is much more doable for us at the moment. If you want to share your love with a child but aren’t in a position to adopt yet, you should check it out.
