Becoming a teacher has been incredibly fulfilling; however, be prepared to give 100%. This is not a Monday through Friday, 8 to 3:30 job that runs 9 months only! Most teachers work late every afternoon, work weekends, and throughout summer preparing for the next academic year. This is the “norm” in education today. Summer teaching is becoming a necessity to make ends meet. Most teachers do not get paid anywhere near what they should. Be prepared to be poor!

Grades are not based only on effort. Most of the time it is regurgitation of what the professor has said or told you to read. Many do not want you to disagree with them, so don’t.
