There was irrational joy when I passed the 2000 song mark, but now I am impatient to hit 3000!!
A Rubiks cube is a bit of a rarity on my day to day travels so I was chuffed to stumble across one when shopping last night, I went straight to the till with it! It’s a keyring version but all the better for carrying around with me, it also came with hints and tips, i.e. instructions! I’ve messed it up so I will get back in touch after I’ve had a spare moment to attempt the seemingly impossible!
So, I popped into my local shop on the way home from work to grab a couple of things, and it was only as I was reaching for a plastic bag that I remembered my stock of canvas ones in the car…I never remember and now it’s getting really annoying!!
This is trickling through my fingers as each friend mulls over whether she can save enough money for the trip…looks like i’m either going on my own or leaving it till next year!!
My brother asked me for the painting in question over a year ago, I nearly finished it in June but my dear sister dropped a photo frame on it and created a beauty of a hole! Somehow I didn’t fly into a rage but calmly bought a new canvas and started again. Which is why it’s taking so long to complete…I’ve already done it once! It’s the first time I have worked in oil paints and they drive me crazy, being extremely clumsy I am forever smudging parts that aren’t quite dry and having to redo a lighter coloured section as I put a dirty mark on it. Quite frustrating! But my brother is getting it as a Christmas present so I have to knuckle down and work hard….
Golden Circle tickets purchased, my pockets are going to jangle with spare change for a couple of months now! Bring on June 08!
I’ve got brand new bedding, so I’m just gonna have to whip together a brand new applique quilt to match, darn!
I did set myself the personal target of completing this by 1st Jan 2008, but it’s not looking good. By my calculations I would have to read 2 books a day and shying away from the more serious titles has left me with 20 odd massive books to complete! I’m going to set myself another target of 30th June; 6 additional months. Don’t worry I will still complete the forfeit for not finishing them on target!!
I’ve just been introduced to their music with ‘Where does the good go?’ and I am eternally forgetting to buy this when I go to the shops. Here’s hoping that this will work as enough of a reminder to me!
I think I am already doing this (thank goodness for being employed!) but I am going to give it a couple of months to make sure I am!
My sister is the Bon Jovi fan and insisted on putting all his music on my i-pod; much to my horror. But on a recent trip to America, the stupid amount of Jon bon albums on my i-pod dominated the shuffle and became the unspoken soundtrack of the trip. So here I am, an official fan, getting up early on Saturday to try and get Golden tickets to get up close and personal with good ole Jon Bon!
I am definitely in agreeance with this plan. Either event would be horrifying, even more so if it happened by accidentally tripping off the edge of a bridge. Nightmare!
During the post-uni job search I joined a volunteer group that restores and maintains the grounds of National Trust houses in my local area, it’s a great hobby whilst helping people out. Mostly it’s maintanence of trees, hedges etc. but every now and again the job involves maintaining/restoring areas of a more historical context, recently we have been relaying a cobbled path to the front of a house. It’s extremely satisfiying to see the work you have completed!
I actually made a start! With my birthday celebrations out of the way I settled down to it last night, I created a lot of chaos and got the front page done, I think I was a bit tired for it though as, using rub off letters, I put 2007 instead of 2006. Darn, a little manuovering and the six where the seven was and no-one will know! But now I have created so much mess I can either carry on or tidy up, I’m not sure which is easier!
This is my only non-specific ‘Thing’ I want to do, all my others have a final completion point but I think this is a lifelong ambition. Hopefully the simple action of adding this to my list will be enough to encourage me to think again when making decisions and not to over analyse my previous actions! Here goes..
This is a delayed entry as I completed it a while ago! I did it in 28 minutes, but I do feel I overpaced myself and could have knocked a minute or two off with a bit more effort involved. Another slight hinderance was, as the route was two laps of the local park, on the second lap I caught up with the walkers and it became a game weaving in and out to get past them! Now all I have to do is continue to jog and stay fit, I’m not sure how long that’s going to last!
