I tell you it’s not easy – this must have been my 150th attempt, but so far so good. I gave up nearly 1 year ago – I had my last drag of nicotine and smoke (voluntarily that is – can’t help passive smoking of course!) on the night of the 1st July 2007- the UK Ban date for public smoking.
How? We getting a fabulous partner who loves you very much and gives you reason to wanna live beyond 45 helps.. especially when she doesn’t smoke and never has. I put it down to will power, avoidance of a smoking environment for at least 3 months and well being tired of doing it for so long.
I’ve done patches, gum, stupid plastic fake smokes, but in the end it was love that saved my life – try it and be a happier healthier and financially more robust person because of it – it also gives you a great sense of smugness to be able to look down your nose at smokers huddling outside pubs and cafes in the cold incrementally killing themselves!
