I’ve been cooking everyday for months, elaborate and well-presented meals for my roomates and friends. At this point I’m the house chef. And, I love it!
It was months ago that I was writing entries about the food I was having fun making. Since then I’ve become really confident in the kitchen.
Why, yesterday I was given a lot of “the best calf’s liver ever,” pre-cooked. I made caramelized cabbage, sauteed green onions, and coleslaw, and served with with rye bread. Fancy meal—but 2 years ago I would have probably ruined the bread while cutting it.
So I’m gonna go ahead and say that I’ve done this. Chears :D

I want to be a bartended ‘cause my roomate’s server job is making me drool. as a guy, “waitress” is a hard job to get, but I could easily bartend with my smart-serve certificate (canada, here) and a little hutzpah. So, i’m getting my smart-serve tomorrow and I hope to have a bartended job asap. I’m thinking my best bet ‘cause i’ve never been a bartender before is to work at a dive or a hipster-hop—i’m gonna apply everywhere. anyway, wish me luck!

The turkey dinner turned out great! I made cranberry-apple stuffed turkey breast (cranberry sauce, apple chunks, bread-crumbs and turkey stock for the stuffing, rolled up in a flattened turkey breast, braised with turkey stock for over an hour at 200C), champ (mashed potatoes with an onion-garlic-chicken stock sorta masala added), pan-fried zucchini and peppers, and coleslaw (shredded cabbage, salted and drained, rinsed, with a sauce of mayo, silken tofu, black olive juice, salt and mustard powder, and black olives)
and I made caramelized apples for dessert (apples with the tops cut off, and the core spooned out, with rum and sugar in the hole, baked for about 20 minutes)
I made soup during, and that was good too—a simple turkey noodle soup, with barley, farfalle pasta, turkey meat, carrots celery and onion, and oregano)
today I made a big pot of pasta on the quick. I cooked a bag of penne, drained it and added two cans of whole roma tomatoes, chopped onion and pepper, anchovy oil, oregano and parsley, and olive oil, and baked it for about 20 minutes at 200C)
I made that at like 3 and it’s all gone! I love it!
