...well whudduya mean exactly by no destination…once, I got on a motorcycle in Boulder , Co and headed west over the pass to the next valley where winter park lay. I had packed enough to stay out overnight if necessary, a small sleeping bag a bivvy and some rain gear. I was “between things” at the time and the early summer weather was perfect. I sunk into my dreams and though maybe I’ll extend it a day and headed toward steamboat springs..heading west. Arriving early, I thought, ok, I’ll explore some back woods trails and just meander west towards Craig and dinosaur mnmt. After that Salt lake didn’t seem far away on the map and I bought a walmart fishing pole. After visiting a sweetie pie in Nevada I putted the dirt roads across that fine and hidden gem of a state and meandered slowly through the mountains of california down to a hot shower at my hollywood brother’s place. knock, knock, knock. Never regretted an instant. bon route

In school I was hopeless. One of those square pegs which never fit the orthodoxy. Constantly underperforming und underinspired. I learned math, German, Spanish, and French AFTER school.

The key to learning is to find the right personal motivator. There is an expression which goes “the best place to learn a language is in bed”..it is variously attributed to French or Italians or other cultures the males of which fancy themselves to be great lovers. Despite its source, it lends credence to my earlier thesis. Find something inspiring and learn all about it. Brazilian Portugese next. ;-/
