Champaign Staircases 7 months ago

Drink Champaign on staircases,
And never be a fool.
Ignore Spanish beauties,
I wish you could.

Dead mice under deadlines,
I guess that’s all I was.
Noir isn’t quiet in my top five,
But “I’ll Be Waiting” is quite a line.

You broke my heart in one dream,
And mended it in another.
You swept it across the floor in some,
And lost a piece in others.

I’m the fool
Who lives for your words.
You truly are
A teacher.

Your gritty truth.
A romance heart
Is all you have
To offer.

But a younger heart,
That so desires,
Is looking for a
Sense of fire.

You are broken,
Just admit it-
You don’t need
To hide yourself

Behind your humor.
You set yourself
Up for disaster.
