I applied to volunteer at the local hospital and they have a program of Reiki volunteers as well. They only use Reiki level II folks, but I have met a teacher who will work with me to get me to level II. Very exciting, because I had been waiting for the right teacher to come along and was seeking a female teacher for level II. My level I teacher was a man and I wanted another perspective, released that desire, and now it is coming back to me as an opportunity!

How I did it: I have been doing this for years. As a kid, I would just use scrap paper or construction paper and crayons, markers, or paints. Over the years I have moved on to using a nice cold press art paper and watercolors. I first fold and then rip the paper along the folds to get a unique edge, repeating until I get the size piece I want for my cards. I use Arches cold press 90lb, which is 2x3 feet, but my cards are small, … Read how I did it…
How I did it: I took an avocado pit and stuck it in the dirt with another houseplant, and then watered them both regularly. The avocado grew and has been growing ever since. I have done this at least five times. Read how I did it…
How I did it: My stepfather in law was only the most recent person to recommend Al Anon to me. I found ACoA too, and was lucky to be moving near one of the only meetings in my state. ACoA has been the most supportive, courageous, and honest things I've done in long time. I looked the meeting up online [Google ACOA] and just started going. I make myself share at most meetings, partly to make myself do something I'm afraid of and … Read how I did it…

I started doing this almost every day at the beginning of the month, despite my hate for new year’s resolutions. Even though I have missed a couple of days here and there because of traveling, feeling sick, etc, I have made up for them with extra time on other days or other forms of exercise. The last day I missed yoga, I actually missed it. I think that means my habit is starting to set itself, which is a really good feeling. What I hope to get from this program of yoga is to become stronger and more fit. I am already very flexible [childhood gymnastics], but can’t always hold a pose. And with that, I should go do today’s yoga now…
...is where I live. I still haven’t bought a journal, mostly because I am trying to save money and because I should just pick one out of the many notebooks I have already. Still, the show must go on…so every night I make myself at least think or say out loud five things I was grateful for in my life in general or that happened during the day. This is what I can do now, and I am okay with that. Plus, it helps me fall asleep more peacefully.
