Somewhere in the middle of Part Two of Book One!! I was reading it at the DMV while some Russian guy was yelling at the DMV clerk. They actually had a Russian translator, which was impressive. The translator and the guy had a long and passionate argument in Russian. They were waving their arms and eyes flashing and everything. I thought it was appropriate given my reading material. Apparently the Russian guy had been stopped by the cops and they had taken his car and his license and he didn’t understand why but said he was a “hard worker”. (I don’t speak Russian. That was the stuff they said in English). The Russian guy kept sneaking looks at me and smiling and winking, and picked up my mitten when I dropped it.
i waited for an hour at the dmv and just missed the cutoff to take the written test, which i have to retake because my license has been suspended for so long. they aren’t open on monday so it’s back on tuesday i guess. so i “failed” at my personal challenge. i don’t know whether to mark this “i give up” or what. too bad i can’t change it for tuesday.
speaking of which: so far i’ve completed all three of my “personal challenges” well within my deadline, but TWO of them are marked “FAILED”. WTF?? i did them at least 8 hours before they “expired”, and marked them both as completed. i don’t get it. 43things sucks.
