If you’re thinking of doing it, don’t be scared. It’s hair, it’s not who you are inside. It will grow back. I wanted to do it for two reasons. One, to make myself more confident, I’m a very shy person. Two, to challenge my perceptions of beauty. I want to be ok with myself, not the superficial part of me, that’s not important, but the inner me. I want to feel beautiful on the inside, and accept myself the way I am. So off came the hair, and no, I don’t regret it. It feels good, although the first nite it was a little cold. Don’t be afraid of what others will say, if you’re happy with it, it doesn’t matter what they think. I don’t think I would keep it shaved for a long period of time, I’ll probably just let it grow back in, it took a long time to shave it all, but it’s an experience I wouldn’t want to miss. It’s helping me accept myself, and that’s completely worth not having hair..

How I did it: I was living my then boyfriend, now ex. it was late at night and storming, which woke us up. we went out on the deck to stand in the rain, as it was summer and very hot inside. we kissed for a few minutes, wrapped up in a sheet. it was ok, probably much better when you're totally in love with your partner. we were headed towards a breakup, and not totally feeling connected anymore, so it wasn't all hurricanes and butterflies, so to speak.… Read how I did it…
How I did it: went to Skinquake, asked Josh to do it, 5 minutes later, ta-da! I was a little nervous beforehand, knowing the sensation of the needle going through would cause my eyes to well up, and there wouldn't be a damn thing I could do about it. so I'm hanging upside down off the chair, the jewelry goes in, I've got tears flowing *up* my face, and he says, "I don't like it, it looks crooked". I get up and sure enough it's crooked, but after about … Read how I did it…
