Be a SAHM (Stay at Home Mom).
It really helps if you have support in your decision... 13 months ago

I continued to work nights after my daughter was born. It worked well, but I got so tired working at night and waking up to be with her while Daddy was at school.
The keys to success in this are to let go of the extras you think you can’t live without (like getting your haired done, or nails, etc. Excessive shopping…)and embrace that you are doing a wonderful thing for your children!
Often, continuing to work will only pay for the childcare you will need to have the privilege of working.
Children really benefit from actually being raised by their parents! There is a lot less worry about having to find a suitable daycare with qualified and friendly providers.
It is really a good feeling being able to take a traditional role of mothering, and enjoy the precious time you have with your kids before the grow up!

make christmas presents this year
I WILL NOT BUY THINGS! 13 months ago

I’m not going to let myself be sucked in again this year. I don’t need to spend money that we don’t have on people I hardly ever see!
I will not get swept up in other people’s attempts to buy love!
I will put more effort into making crafts with my children and decorating our house.
Presents don’t change people. Burn personal C.D.s. Make cards. Write letters or poems. Send photos, e-cards, etc.
Think about all the people who return gifts, or re-gift, or hide ugly sweaters in their closets out of guilt! Don’t do that to people!

make time to read every day
It's coming along very slowly... 13 months ago

I put my Complete Works of Oscar Wilde in the bathroom. I get about two pages a day while I use the toilet.
If I ever get the house clean, I can use Sofia’s nap time to read or do fun things…
