My final book this year is out on 15 August.
Henrietta’s life is different to that of her school pals – her purpose is to serve her unloving parents as a dutiful daughter by cooking their meals, washing up and carrying out all the household chores.
One day, Henri’s life is turned upside down with the discovery that her grumpy dad and her pampered mum are not her real parents… and are thinking of sending her away to a home.
That’s when her tears of sadness are picked up on a supersound receiver by Eanie Meanie – a green, tentacled alien and together they embark on a strange and perilous adventure which takes them far away from the earth.

I have just received an offer of a contract to publish the first in the series of books I have written called Jo Badpenny. It is about a boy who is wrongly accused of being a criminal. At his new school he walks straight into an extortion racket. He has to hand over his dinner money each day. When he fails to pay the bully, he needs help. The help he gets is not always welcome – could it be a miracle or magic and how will he ever be free.

Children from the Sea’ by Lookman has an original and unusual storyline. It reminds me of a fairytale when she when the stranded white dolphin asked Katie to kiss it. The title clearly gives a good indication about the books content and hides just enough to allow for a twist at the end. I usually read adventure books and not mystery books so it was a new experience for me. Some pages were refreshing to read, others interesting, or unforgettable, many were just different. I found in some places it difficult to follow or retain the story, especially with Naji having so many flashbacks. The book is about a girl called Katie who unwillingly goes to Spain with her parents where they started a new business in a hotel. The villagers object to the intrusion of outsiders. In the height of Katie’s despair, she meets a merboy who become her romantic savior. Her predicament only slightly improved after she met Naji, the local population behaved nastily to both of them. Observing his strange behavior changed her interest in him through the book from romance to curiosity. From meeting Naji her life is thrown into turmoil until the last chapter when past wrongs are resolved. Naji, an amnesiac boy, is a believable character caught between his disturbed memories of a past life and his embracing in a new unfamiliar world. He is a character you can sympathise; village youths continually harass him without good reason. He depended throughout on Katie’s assistance to help solve his many unusual problems. The plot gains momentum as it progresses. This is a very original read with lots of interesting twists and surprises. The book is worth reading

This book was published by Nightingale on 28 March 2008, ISBN 978-1-903491-63-8.
Katie had never wanted to go and live in Spain in the first place, but when your dad gives up his job to run a shop in a new hotel, whats a girl to do? * Life seemed pretty bleak, especially after the boy next door turned out to be an obnoxious bully, and things didn’t improve when Katie realised half the villagers resented them being there, and she was doomed to a future without friends.
However… when she met Naji, during a walk on the beach, things took a leap for the better, but the villagers blamed them for the disappearance of two of the eight lucky dolphins that lived in the sea near the village. Folk law had it that these dolphins ever disappeared the village would die. * How can Katie convince people that Naji who swims with the dolphins is not a threat, and persuade the village to accept them? Find out how she does this and how she helps Naji and his family along the way…. Children / Young Adult

Although I have three books coming out this spring, I am still struggling with the first book I wrote the Gossiping Tree. It was intended to be the first of a series of four books about why a boy receives visions.
Since having written, edited and proofed three other books going over old ground is scary. It is a book riddled with mistakes. I do not know how many times I will have to crawl over the text like a Google search engine to be happy with it.

My greatest problem is the question of marketing own book. Publishers do not have large budgets for new writers it looks like a very big mountain to climb.
