And it was the most amazing experience of my life. I was so worried about the plane ticket price…but I only paid just over 800 bucks. Which I shall thank IACE travel for.
And I have a friend out there in the air force so I stayed with her and she and her friends took me all over the place. I had some of the best meals while I was there. We also went to the Sakura festival! Which was breathtaking. Cherry Blossoms at night lit by pink lanterns…and the smell of hot food from the vendors…and the excited chatter from all the people. Oh it was so much fun.
And if you love shopping…Tokyo is the place to be. I’m a shopper and the clothes there are just perfect…but prices are high.
Shibuya was probably my favorite area of Tokyo. It’s where the giant crosswalk is. And this really awesome restaurante called Alcatraz ER. It’s made to look like a mental institution. And they handcuff you when they take you to your table and what not. The waiters/waitresses are dressed in nurses outfits, and all the seperate rooms where the tables are look like patient cells. And every hour or so someone “escapes” the hospital and runs around trying to scare the customers, while the staff chases him with fake guns and sedates him. It was hilarious.
It’s an expensive place to eat, but the entertainment is perfect. And if you say it’s your birthday you get a free cake…and oh man. It’s to die for.
I could go on and on forever about Japan. So I should stop. =)
By the way…that’s a picture of the kitchen at Alcatraz ER. So neat.
