I have paid more than 75% of the debt. Down to the last 6000 pounds. If I stay disciplined, I should be able to pay this off in 8 months. fingers crossed

How I did it: I just decided to not go to pubs every Friday or to have non-alcoholic or light drinks. I also started doing toher things during the weekend that are more active and do not involve going to the pub. I was not a regular drinker but had the tendency to drink heavily when I did go out and I think I finally have that under control. I feel so much better now! :-) Read how I did it…
How I did it: I had to make more money to pay off my loan for the MSc. I basically took up 2 other software development contracts on the side along with my PhD.It is tough. I had (have) to work weekends while the sun shines outside :( It is tough and I will not recommend it unless one really needs it! Read how I did it…
How I did it: Just joined the gym and forced myself to go everyday. I just make sure I put in at least an hour at the gym every morning. No tricks, no mantra. Just did it. Feels great. Read how I did it…

I got a one year lesson with Jamplay where the instruction is amazing. It is hard work but I am spending an hour every evening playing the guitar. It will take me at least a few months to even start sounding decent but I am sticking to it. It is fun.
I really hope I will be able to pick it up. The reward of learning a musical instrument is priceless.
I am regularly cooking my dinners these days and I have more control over what I eat. I have mastered quite a few vegetarian recipes and am really enjoying this new hobby.
The only time I eat meat these days is if I am invited to a dinner and do not want to inconvenience the hosts.
I am doing this mostly for environmental reasons and I also do not support the inhumane treatment of animals by the meat industry.
