So I haven’t as much as glanced at a Spanish text book or listened to a course since I started this goal. I’ve been very busy in work and I don’t yet have a clear idea of where I’m going to resume Spanish studies. I think I should have a good look at all of my Spanish books/cds and make a short term study plan, and then see if I can make some progress.

Last night I made the goose model from John Montroll’s Birds in Origami. I still can’t quite get the beak and the feet well shaped as the paper is a little thin and flimsy. I then went on to try making the pelican but that paper got too thick and and I couldn’t quite understand one of the last steps. I should have this model down after a few more goes.
In the last couple of weeks I’ve read Don’t Fear the Wolf by Karen Fossum. It’s a crime/detective story, part of the Inspector Sejer series. I didn’t really enjoy it very much as most of the book is spent in the company of characters other than Sejer. I like my crime thrillers to focus on the main character. It doesn’t compare well to the Inspector Wallendar series by Henning Mankell.
I’m just finishing off Don’t Look Back, also by Karen Fossum. This one is much better than Don’t Fear the Wolf. Different story and much more character development. However, I think after this I’m all washed out on Fossum’s books and won’t be buying another. Still, that’s 2 books that I can get off my shelves and off to the charity shop.
