ive been writing since about may now and ive been trying to figure out how i was going to be able to mass produce my book. first i considered making it look super ghetto and just photocopy all of my hand written stuff. i thought it would give it some type of edge (i later concluded that it would look ratty and unrefined…which isn’t bad necessarily but it doesn’t seem fitting for this particularly…)
so i tossed a couple ideas around and most seemed absurdly time consuming but then i found this website. lulu.com
you can personalize everything about your book…
binding
size
color/b&w
cover design
etc
so i am completely fired out by this. all i have to do is type out all of what i have written and just load it up and then BAM! done.
my only issue now is how to get my sketches that coordinate with it loaded up. maybe scan it or something? give me ideas please. i can’t figure it out.
ive been working on my back since about april. youd be surprised how much of a relaxing time it is. usually i wait till something has shaken up my life to where i can use the time under the needle as a therapy session with babak (my artist)
his advice is epic.
but my last session was about 6 hours long. i only have one picture of my back…it looks totally different now. all of the botton is filled in… the peacock on the side looks stellar now (its my favorite) and all my cherry blossoms are pink and purple… its hard to describe really bc it looks like someone basically stamped the image on my back. there is no outline. the only black he’s used on me is the vine work and a faint outline to color into. heres the picture…but keep in mind this is from like…er….at least 3 months ago before the 6 hrs…
