How I did it: I took a ton of classes at my local public access channel, then I took some more at my job (Dicovery Channel) Took a gig as an assistant editor, worked on some shows, and lost a lot of sleep. I watched “The Seventh Seal” and “Metropolis”, again surprisingly better than I expected. I’d only seen those clips of Metropolis that people show in bits of music videos—but its great, and I don’t usually like silent movies. I guess all that’s left are “Once Upon a Time in the West” and “Double Indemnity”
I like the idea of the Cosby fellowship, but it pays no money. How do you go to LA and not receive a stipend?
