parking lot

it was right after i graduated from college. i was somehow experiencing an all-time high and all-time low a the same time. i was exhausted, starving, and cold.
still, we were driving through the parking lot at a grocery store and it started pouring. he stopped the car and we both got out, me being more reluctant than he. we stood in the dark parking lot with only the lights of sporadic cars driving by and kissed for a long time. i was tired and he was warm. it was a moment of pure joy, celebration, and security.
