Wow. I am
Almost halfway thru the degree process. I’ve worked really hard and it’s been emotional, too. But it is paying off. I applied and was accepted into a program after my 2nd semester that has paid for all my tuition and books! Getting ready to transfer to university and, boy, am I scared! But if you aren’t scared then your dreams aren’t big enough.

How I did it: I was denied coverage for health insurance due to 'marital counseling' and because I was applying for individual insurance I can get turned down for anything. I felt so frustrated at getting turned down by so many companies and began to look at the state pool insurance program. I finally enrolled in a junior college and, while it's hard work, as long as I maintain a certain number of college hours I am eligible for studen… Read how I did it…
How I did it: I have been wanting to do this for several years and even researched how to write a mission statement as I couldn't fathom where to begin. Joan Mazza's book, Dream Back Your Life is what finally made sense to me. I followed her direction and even wrote my obituary. Having the obituary was a big help in keeping me focused on what I felt was important in life. I spent much time drafting and free writing and then bega… Read how I did it…
How I did it: First, let me say I'm not 100% 'cured' of the cursing habit. Yet I'm so very much better than I used to be. I realized that most of the time when I used foul language it was because I was either very tired or very frustrated/angry and the cursing was a sign that I was having difficulty coping. I've gotten better about taking care of myself, getting enough sleep and eating well and journaling almost daily to work through … Read how I did it…

i made a deal that i wouldn’t eat at my favorite Indian food restaurant until my last debt was paid (excepting my mortgage). i went almost 2 years without any good Indian food and every time i wanted to eat out, i would take the $20 i would have spent at the restaurant and sent it to a creditor.
now i’m determined to stay out of debt. i’ve had some challenges but i’ve managed to always pay cash and not use any credit cards or take out any loans. no more credit enslavement for me!
part of my sci degree requires english composition. it’s helping me to learn a framework for writing. mostly i want to be able to write for magazines and stuff, not perfect essays. i know that the best way to write is to just do it and the class does make me write alot! practice makes perfect.
