I’m working towards 5 days a week…4 days of 30-40 minute runs or interval training and one long run. This week will be my first “long” run (although not really long yet) of 5 miles.
I’m still pretty new to running (about 3 months) so right now it’s more about figuring out what does and doesn’t work for me, working on improving my form and increasing speed and distance. The nice thing about still being pretty new to this is that I see improvement so quickly when I set to working on a specific goal!

Yesterday a friend and I (she also did the Cto5k) did the “Run With Cops, Not From Them” 5k (it was to raise money for the Law Enforcement Memorial Fund) and both finished in just over 36 minutes…not exactly an awesome time, but that was averaging a pretty consistent 5 mph, so respectable for a first time out!
We’ve already planned our next one, which will be over the new Tacoma Narrows Bridge right before it opens to auto traffic. We get to run down an on ramp, on the highway, over the bridge and back…I think it’ll be AWESOME!

Marathon distance, but it’s a 20 week run/walk training program.
