Say what you will. I found my chiropractor to be a hell of a lot nicer to my ailing mother than the neurologist was. Any guy who can, in good consciousness, charge $230 for a 30 second visit (and made their patient wait 2 hours to see him) should not be in healthcare.

It is very hard and you must work through a lot- not only what you encounter in the dojo but in your own mind. Self-doubt is a powerful thing, and if you let it overcome you, this goal is impossible. However, if you are willing to put in the effort you can reach sho-dan.
I was a gymnast from the time I was 7 til 14. I was the least flexible person on my gymnastics team, so naturally because it took me a year of constant stretching to achieve splits, I thought it wasn’t anythign special. Then I joined cheerleading and discovered not everyone could do it. I have since moved on to martial arts. Now that I’m 24, I’ve lost a lot of flexibility, but I’m still pretty good. I can still do my side splits, and I’m working to get my middle split again. Remember, you can always go further once you get it.
