How I did it: Training, Training, Training and having a training partner who got me through the hard days!Don't over train, but make sure to get the long runs in. Practice eating and drinking every 1-2 miles during long runs (if you plan to use water stations during the marathon).Research your marathon - check into elevation - train for that elevation - if it's hilly - run your long runs with hills.Make sure you have tried out what you are going to eat… Read how I did it…
How I did it: It was during an adventure race, so I'm not sure it completely counts as learning, it was mostly just doing. It was off a 10 story dorm building in Lawrence, KS. I was already exhausted at the time. Think that may have helped a little - less energy to be nervous!! ;-) Read how I did it…
I want to at least walk a few miles on it – would be great to do the Great Wall marathon, but very hard.
