I finally got to build something. I built a two man loft bed for my dorm room, and a 3 man loft bed for another room. Lots of work, but it was worth it to see the finished product.

I recently obtained a new Toyota Tacoma through a series of rather unfortunate events. I guess it should never be unfortunate when one obtains a new vehicle, but I liked my old one and feel bad about having to sell it. Anyway, this new truck is a stick shift, and I’m FINALLY getting a chance to learn to drive it. It sucks right now because I’m at school and I never get to practice, but soon enough I’m sure I’ll get the hang of it.
This summer I bought a violin with high hopes of learning to play it over the next few years. I have just ended my collegiate running career and I’ve been looking for a hobby to fill my newfound freetime. I really enjoy music of all kinds, and I think violin might be enough of a challenge to keep me occupied for years to come. Although I haven’t officially started lessons, I’ve been getting tips from a guy who plays violin in my dorm. So far so good, but I don’t feel I’ve made any “real” progress. My goal is to be able to play an “intermediate” level song by the end of the school year, but I definitely need to practice more often if I’m ever going to get there.
