How I did it: I taught myself to touch type 5 or so years ago because I thought it looked like a useful thing to be able to do. I practiced a lot because it turned out that I found it quite fun and wanted to get faster at it. After a while I stopped practising, by which time I usually had a speed of at least 100WPM. How I did it: I was shopping in Guildford with two friends one weekend and someone approached us asking if we would be interested in taking a kickboxing self-defence class, and offered a free introductory lesson.
