Give us a price range in which you want to stay in and I know I can recommend a few…
Cnet.com has a ton of cameras and a list of vendors with very competitive price range if you want to check that out. Good luck and happy hunting!
Pesonally I will recommend Nikon, Canon, Samsung and Panasonic. If you find any of those in your preferred pricerange it would be a reasonable buy.
consumer cam: canon powershot a620 is fab!
prosumer cam : canon 20d or 30d
I bought a Canon G7 for about $500 and I’m very very happy with it. I also have a 4 year old Canon SD400 that I loved, but has lately been developing errors reading memory cards for some reason. I really like the Canons, great color tone. The G7 is close enough to being a pro camera that it takes a while to get used to, but they also make plenty of “point and shoot” models that cost less and are easier to use. A couple of my friends have Sony T10s and they seem very happy, also around $500 . . .
