Dear 43 Things Users,

10 years after introducing 43 Things to the world, we have decided we have met our last goal: completing the incredible experience that has been 43 Things. Please join us in giving one last cheer to all the folks who have shared their goals with the world, as well as all the people who have worked at The Robot Co-op to build this incredible website. We won a Webby Award, published a book, and brought happiness to a lot of people.

Starting today, 43 Things users can export their goals and entries from the site. Starting August 15, we will make the site “read only”. 43 Things users will still be able to view the site and export their content, but we won’t be taking any new content from users. We hope to leave the site up for folks to see and download their content until the end of the year. Ending on New Year’s Eve takes us full circle.

It has been a long ride (one of our original goals was to "build a company that lasts at least 2 years” - we beat that one!) While we wish the site could live on, it has suffered from a number of challenges - changes in how people use the site, the advertising industry, and how search engines view the site. We wish the outcome was different – but we’ve always been realistic about when our goals are met and when they aren't.

As of today, you will be able to download your goals and entries. See more about that on the FAQ page. Thanks for 10 great years of goal-setting and achieving.

live passionately
A question about this goal: What are you passionate about? July 8th, 2005 04:28

the sun
the moon
the stars
especially the shooting stars
blueberry pie
any pie really
but not sugar pie
finding things friends ideas
running with ideas
holding hands
taking photos of all of life’s beauty
seeing things from a new angle
meeting people
sharing energy

The universe and everything in it…
the stars to count, the smell of orange blossoms, playing-watching-coaching-living soccer, the taste of sun on my skin, the ocean to dance in, the world to conquer, movement, music to sing badly to, my god-daughter and nephews to make giggle, my friends and family to hug, screaming at the top of every mountain I can climb while I can still climb, Tim Tam slams, fresh hot cookies, teaching-reading-writing stories, I could go on forever…..

the outdoors
chocolate in front of a good fire reading a good book
the smell of wet earth after rain
cheesecake :)
the sea

I’m passionate about making things that change people, even if for just a moment.

the euphoric feeling I get when I listen to music that touches me in some way
playing my guitar, especially in collaboration with other musicians
turning people on to music they’ve never heard before
having a taste of my favorite gelato
visiting a foreign country and being an explorer for the short time I’m there
jazz & blues music
any spiritual practice that helps me to get closer to the divine ie. yoga, meditation
creating art

being alive.
Every feeling, emotion, I have from euphoria to tears, I thoroughly enjoy.

Sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Nothing is more inspiring or edifying than watching people connect with their Creator and Savior. If there is anything to be passionate about or make you come alive, it is to know that you are living for something than is bigger than you are. I am passionate about Jesus because He is passionate about me!

I have Jesus as the #1 person in my life.
He is the best person i ever met and is always there when i need him. Best Friend I Have.

Hockey. Because there is nothing in the world better.

Love. People – especially strangers. Writing. Art in general. Groups. Nature. Music.
