When my mother was trying to find her brother who never wrote to her she contacted the Salvation Army in the state she knew he was living in. It seems they have a very strong way of locating people and she was all across in Massachusetts and he was somewhere in Californaia.
Sometimes hiring a private investigator might work but it can be expensive depending on your funds. They are also search agencies out there or even contacting his graduating HS or college graduating class online from past reunions.
If you have no idea who your birth father and your adopted; contacting the adoption agancy might provide a clue where he is if it has been a long time. If I had more information on how this came to be I might have more suggestions. Good luck.

it really depends on how much you know, i was lucky, i had a couple good leads, for example, that he’d been living in new york the last time anyone had heard from him. i went to free people searches on the internet, www.zabasearch.com was really useful. i went to phonebook websites, reunion websites, i memorized his social security number and found a website that would let me do limited searches for him using it. that was actually really helpful because it gave me the cities and states in which the number had been used and how many times it had been used. but like i said, it all depends on how much you know, i don’t really know your circumstances. i guess my advise would be to seek out and cling to every scrap of information you can find. in the end, all my searches really gave me was a good idea of where he was living, he actually made the choice to contact me through the child support collection agency in my state. i don’t really know what else to say other than to wish you all the luck in the world, sorry if i wasn’t very helpful.
I know his full name, birthmonth, age, where he went to high school, and where he lived last time I saw him…which was when I was like…three. And my mother and him both worked for the same place, so I know he used to work there.
I’ll definitely take advantage of the website, and I’ll let you know if it helps.
i went to zabasearch.com. yes its usuful but how can i get the number or anything with out a credit card. thats all i need and im fine. i don’t know wat to do. my dad walked away before i was born and he didn’t want anything to do with me. for the past 16 years thats all i have been thinking is why he did that. i want him to tell me that he didn’t want me. so how do i get to him without using credit cards?
christy is thankful
I just found my Bio Dad a few months ago. I knew his full name, were he last lived, and his age. I tried alot of searches. George, and SeekingKen, have given great advise. The phone books on the internet was how I found him, his Dad had the last name he did so I kept finding the same number over and over next to my grandfathers name, state and age. I finally just called and asked if he had a son named my Dad’s name. And through that conversation he gave my Dad my number and he called and came to visit me and we now write emails back and forth almost daily. Public records can help, his school may be able to help because of class reunions, and even his work could help. even just doing internet searches with his name on yahoo, google or were ever can help, Family can help, ask as many questions as you can. searching for his relatives if you know their names. you can also just search different sites on the net how to find biological father, worded many ways. I hope this helps.
