always buy cloths that fit. not too tight and not too baggy.
if you want to heighten, think of wearing cloths that make you look tall. which means that you want to make sure that it’s not too long but cuts just around your hips as far as jackets. and pants that are straight legged… make sure the cuff is not too long so that it bunches at the bottom, but not too short so when you sit down, it looks like you’re wearing crops.
baggy cloths will make you look like you’re lost in it so make sure it’s a vertical streamline.
shoulders of shirts and jackets should not fall off your shoulders so you want to make sure that the width accentuates the width of your shoulders.
it’s hard to tell what your full body looks like in the photo you are using but it does look a little like you’re swimming in your suit. which makes it look like you’re playing ‘dress up’.
tailored clothing is not only neat and sophisticated, but it will help you look more vertical.
good luck!
well, i’m just telling you what i see. as i said, it’s hard to tell from the photo as it’s only part of you. but it looks a little big. it is possible that the tailor didn’t do a great job.
or perhaps it was just the style to start off with. it’s not tapered as much as it should be.
for example, i just came back from one of my best friend’s wedding. him and all his groomsmen wore desiner suits customed designed and tailored by a friend of his who is an up and coming fashion designer in our city. all their suits were more fitted.
Well, it depends on what you do – are you working ? A student ? I think J Crew has cool stuff that is young and modern (at their shops or online). You could also go to vintage shops and buy a few unique pieces like a velvet jacket or vintage tie, and give your look a funky twist by mixing these items with new ones.
Also, try not to dress too old if you wear suits and more “mature” clothing. Pick designs, fabrics and colors that are fresh and young, like a grey suit with a funky shirt.
Check out magazines like Details and GQ for ideas. Good luck!
