I would think that there would be some kind of proof… such as your account registry, deposit receipts, do you have any of those….

barring that, I’m sure once you take a good deep breath ( which I’m sure you have by now), make an appointment to speak with the bank manager,

bring any and all paperwork you have that you have from that bank, including your bank statements and very kindly and calmly say, I don’t understand… This doesn’t make sense… the manager will eventually come up with a more palpable answer. You only need one or two statements that show any amount of money in that account…

Also, they need to prove that you made the withdrawal if that’s what they’re saying happened, with signature verification, electronic withdrawal verification, also you can file a criminal complaint against them and you should let them know that you will be doing that. Also, I think you can call the ABA (I think that’s the Banking Association title), an organization that regulates them and make a formal charge of fraud!

This worked for me once when the building manager said I owed an additional $500 for rent. She said she had no record of my having paid it…. Little by little, with patience and conversation, we peiced together what her error was, initally though I was really pissed…

This also worked for me when i’d lost $850 on an airplane… they kept telling me that they’d looked and it wasn’t there. The plane made 2 trips to my airport before I calmly came down and asked to look myself and of course… It was there in my wallet undisturbed…they simply hadn’t looked hard enough

Was Paypal involved? Or credit card theft? (Some companies had problems with being hacked…) Some ATM money withdrawal machines or even a big store in my country have been hacked too… people lost money…
