spend more time with my family
A question about this goal: Any Ideas on fun things to do with your family which don't cost and focus more on time together than the task at hand? January 10th, 2007 14:17

A day in the park or beach is always the best way to go. Playing board games are also cool to keep the fun mood going. It is funny how there are things to do without spending a lot of money.

Making pizza, going to a matinee, renting a movie, going for icecream, going window shopping, painting together…

yes…there are so many things to do…our newest adventures include a family hobby of letterboxing…you can learn more at letterboxing.org

It doesn’t really matter what you do. It’s the time that counts.

Try going to park or on a hike.

Get together everyday and take a walk around the block together for like 30 min. It’ll get everyone in the same place and you’ll be able to listen and be with each other. Plus you’ll all feel great from the walk. Great way to unwind after work.

Bottom line, being together is about “being together” not just doing together. The more attention you put on your family, the more they know that all you want is to be with them, the more loved they will feel.

And you’ll feel great too.

Edward is thinking about his trip this weekend.

Last night, before bed, my wife and my three-year-old daughter played a half hour of board games. Little One wanted very much to watch TV, and Mommy & Daddy wanted very much to drink beer and watch TV. But instead, we asked her if she wanted to play Candyland, and of course she did. We played about a half hour of her favorite games, and then we played another board game, just the wife and I, after Little One went to bed. It’s kinda corny, but family game night really works.
