I guess really depends on how bad it is! Get it checked by your doctor before putting any stress on it because you’ll only make it worse if you try to run on it before it fully healed
I would say at least 2 weeks. It depends on how bad it is. I sprained my ankle doing cardio and then made the mistake of going back at it too soon and then kept re-spraining the same ankle. I think I even sprained the other one trying to over compensate. Once you do feel you can run again, keep the ankle wrapped just in case. Do yoga or weight lifting or something else less strenuous in the mean time.
i sprained my ankle last summer and it took about a good month or two before my foot looked normal, much less felt healed. i didn’t see a doctor and it was totally bruised. even now a year later i can’t wear heels for more than few hours without that foot hurting. i think it depends on how bad it is – is there any way you can do an exercise in place of running or is it because of a sport? i hope it gets better soon though!
Well I do play soccer but I wasn’t at soccer practice when I sprained it.
I was at the track, doing tire (wheels) drills.. and I fell on it. I heard a popping noise, I heard if you hear a popping noise to go see the doctor, but my ankle feels like it’s healing more each day.
I have no idea but I’d be VERY careful with it until it heals properly. I’m sure you are, since you’re asking the question. I’m reading the replies myself in case it’s something I have to deal with.
