Besides selling it, you can run errands for money, deliver items or charge gas fees for carpooling.

A few things that come to mind are car service and food delivery.

The first thing I would do right now is shop around for car insurance rates and see if you can get a lower rate (you probably can if you haven’t adjusted your rate in while).

Your current insurance company might work with you and lower your rates but if they don’t, you can move on to another company. When you switch policies, your current company will send you a check for the remainder of your policy.

30 minutes on the phone and doing some research on the internet is a lot easier than delivering food in the cold.

At Easter, Christmas , Valentine’s Day. Mother’s day etc. florists need extra help delivering flowers.

If you use it for commuting to work, you can put an ad in craigslist and find a commute buddy to share expenses.

You can plan your trips more efficiently and put fewer miles on the vehicle thereby reducing expenses, which is as good as earning income.

Perhaps you can find an elderly or disabled person in your neighborhood or church/temple/mosque that could use somebody to pick up prescriptions or groceries?

I remember reading an article in Playboy about earning extra cash for the holidays a few years ago, and there were companies which would pay you to turn your car into a billboard. Also, I once answered an ad on craigslist where they wanted to wire my car with listening devices and have me drive around to find out where the “hot spots” were.

If you have the time and want adventure, there are always ads for people looking for delivery of them, their stuff, or their pets across country. Could hire yourself as a “no questions asked” delivery guy….. that may be dangerous, but it might also be really cool.

In the past, I supplemented my income by driving around to moving, estate, and garage sales and buying used books. I then went home and sold them on Amazon and eBay. You could do the same with anything you are interested in. Collectibles, dish patterns, and clothing are but a few choices.
