I found a few things helpful. First, make sure you’re warmed up. If I try to do this when I first get out of bed, I can’t even get near and I’ll probably hurt myself. I do a lot of downward dog, which stretches the same muscles. I also focus more on putting my head near my knees and then trying to straighten my legs, more than pull at my back. The biggest trick is to do it often!
